Sustainable Workshop Series - Green Building - The Pen Factory Tour

Join us for our hard hat tour of the former pen factory building tomorrow Wednesday, September 7th at 9am. Please note that we will be meeting at the Pen Factory entrance on 26th street at 9am to get our hard hats and begin the tour. Parking in the area can be difficult (for the limited options see map below), so we highly recommend you arrive by Expo and exit at Bergamot Station, which is directly across the street.

When complete, The Pen Factory will include over 200,000 SF of office space and new subterranean parking converting an existing building into two with new mezzanine levels, MEP systems, elevators and restrooms. New roofing and skylights will be added, and industrially-scaled curtain walls will bring in natural lighting and fresh air into the workplaces. A subterranean parking garage will provide space for 677 cars (480 of these spaces will be provided by way of double car stacker units) and 270 bikes. The parking garage will have a shower/locker room area. The project will have a central landscaped courtyard and a linear garden with semi-private patios on the south side. Native drought-resistant planting will be utilized for the landscaping. The project is targeting LEED Gold.
